CFA Institute to Host 2020 Annual Conference in Atlanta

Daniel Zimmerman of Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, previously served as a managing director at Goldman Sachs in New York City. In his role, he comanaged the firm’s Small-/Mid-Cap Growth Fund. An active member of his field, the Monmouth Beach resident has worked to improve his knowledge and skills as a member of groups such as the CFA Institute, through which he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

In addition to offering industry-leading professional designations, the CFA Institute conducts research, advocates for the finance industry, and hosts a variety of educational events for financial services professionals. Currently, the organization is preparing to host its 73rd Annual Conference, which will take place May 17-20, 2020, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.

During the four-day event, attendees will have the opportunity to take part in an educational program comprising interactive workshops on a range of topics, among them wealth management and financial trends. The conference will also feature sessions covering career and personal development.

The lineup of speakers at the 73rd CFA Institute Annual Conference will include noted investors, such as Howard Marks of Oaktree Capital Management; leading researchers, such as Aswath Damodaran of the Stern School of Business; and bestselling authors, such as Michael Lewis. Laura Vanderkam, a time-management expert and author, and Annie Duke, a professional poker player and decision strategist, will also speak at the event.

Daniel Zimmerman joined the staff of Goldman, Sachs & Co. in 2003, shortly after he graduated magna cum laude from the University of Richmond with a double major in finance and accounting. A resident of Monmouth Beach, New Jersey, Daniel Zimmerman enjoys baseball, basketball, boating, and fishing.

Located near the mouth of Lower New York Bay, Monmouth Beach offers fishing enthusiasts a broad choice of salt-water fishing options, including striped bass, black sea bass, tuna, scup, bonito, fluke, flounder, and bluefish. Many types of boats are available for charter, with trips ranging from half a day to overnight.

A less expensive fishing trip can be purchased on many party boats that operate from Monmouth Beach and surrounding towns. These boats are generally large and accommodate several dozen passengers.

A resident of Monmouth Beach, Daniel Zimmerman is a financial professional and executive who holds a degree in finance and accounting from the University of Richmond. Until recently, Daniel Zimmerman served as the managing director at Goldman, Sachs & Company in New York City, close to his home in Monmouth Beach.

As a managing director, Mr. Zimmerman co-managed the firm’s small/mid-cap growth fund (GSMYX). The GSMYX fund pursues long-term capital growth through a diversified mix of equity investments in the small and mid-cap market sectors. However, the fund also invests up to 20 percent of its assets in government bonds, corporate and bank debt, and other fixed-income securities.

The GSMYX currently manages $2 billion in total assets. Top holdings include firms such as Bright Horizons Family Solutions, West Pharmaceutical Services, and GoDaddy Inc., and assets turn over at a rate of 59 percent. The GSMYX carries an expense ratio of 0.920 percent and requires a minimum initial investment of $1 million.
